Hello Hoov,

Thankyou for the enlightening post regarding the geochemistry/geology of the Ring of Fire area. I think you managed to achieve a couple of important things with one post.

The first is that all readers should now have a much more informed view of the mineral composition of the area and why it is like it is. In general, we (us laypeople) now have a better understanding of how heat, pressure, solubility other factors influence the movement and deposition of minerals. I would not let a couple of modest techinical issues mar the essence of what you have done. Rather, I suspect that we are going to learn some more as a result of this in a future post from you.

The second matter of importance, particularly with the long holding investors, is a lesson on reserving one's speculation until you have enough facts to work with. You have shown us all here that a carefully garnered understanding of the matter is far more desireable than any wild speculation based upon an oversimplified and unfounded statement. The detail of your post is enough to make it clear that none of this is simple. If all posters researched their statements as carefully as you, we would be an impressively educated group. We would also know not to panic when oversimplified nonsense is espoused by those with ulterior motives. Knowledge is power!
