I just got a PM from a real geochem expert, and I admit straight up that I am not one. Apparently, there are some technical details that I've expressed that are simply not correct. He suggested some further reading I might do, and I fully intend to do that. So, Lar the amateur geologist will continue to evolve, along with the theories forming in my head.
