Thanks Donypee,

I also have another small note to add. Many may not be aware that many of the First Nations communities are either fly in or winter road (with portions of ice road) access only. All of the fuel for their 100% diesel generated electricity must be delivered in the winter months. If the lifespan of the ice only portion of the winter road is less than required (and it often is right now with our generally easier winters), then the fuel must be flown in at unbelieveably high cost to keep the generators running. These communities have the same electricity requirements of any other community in the 1,000 to 5,000 population range. The supply must be consistent and constant (24 and 7).

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada has to foot this atrocious bill and also, it raises the rates that the community members have to pay for their electricity. The result is that the Federal Government is also involved in the road discussions and will undoubtedly be contributing to the cost of construction. In the long run, it would save them (and taxpayers) many millions of dollars.

Just more information to show everyone how many parties are seriously interested in the construction of roads up in the area surrounding the ring of fire.
