Why the RED after Europe's GREEN ?

After seeing all the green in Asia and Europe I was expecting the same for this continent, well I was wrong, but why did Dow Jones and Nasdaq closed in red ? Now maybe I am wrong here so go easy on me. Was thinking about this morning news "Democratic leaders in the U.S. House discuss confiscating 401(k)s, IRAs" and was asking myself how would I react if the same situation happen here in Canada. Here is probably what I would do: sell my RRSP account and of course pay the taxes. I don't know if IRA has similar rules like self directed RRSP, if the rules are same on both sides of the border then maybe some American played the card the way I would. It is just a thought. vila
