Actually, GE pays taxes. It was in the news this week for not paying CORPORATE taxes in the UNITED STATES.

GE still pays OTHER taxes in the U.S., and I believe it pays corporate taxes in various countries outside of the U.S.

So, yes, the U.S. tax system is broken / messed up.

In some other countries, it is not so bad.

Last I heard, for better or for worse, Harper appears to want to follow the U.S. lead and institute new corporate tax cuts. I'm sure we will hear more about this during the election campaign.
