Al's Legacy

There has been a lot of talk about Al selling the company. It's a practice he has done with every one of his companies. But, will he do so with Mannkind?

First, he named the company after himself.

Second, his passion is for the treatment and hopeful erradication of diabetes.

Third, he's at the last chapter(s) of his life.

With all that in mind, why would he sell a company that he named after himself to fight a disease he has put a huge chunk of his money into?

I just get the sense that he wants Mannkind to survive and flurish as part of his legacy instead of selling it. I would argue he wants Mannkind to become the next Amgen.

I realize I could be absolutely wrong come Monday when Al tells us all he's selling the company but I just get the feeling that Al will not sell Mannkind unless the FDA rejects Afrezza for the the third time. Al wants his name and techonology to live forever. That won't happen if he sells the company.
