News Release 12-07 Barkerville Announces Appointment of Jack Miller P.Eng

Vancouver, BC – The Board of Directors of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV:BGM) (the “Company”) is pleased to advise of the addition of Jack Miller, P. Eng as the acting Chief Executive Officer to oversee all operational activities of the Company. Mr. Miller will be working closely with advisory board members Henry Ewanchuk and William Fisher (NR-12-03) as the Company completes a review of all assets.
Mr. Miller holds a B.A.Sc. and an M.A.Sc. in geological engineering and is a registered professional engineer. He has held various site operating and head office leadership roles in multiple base and precious metal operating companies. In these roles, Mr. Miller has been responsible for the entire mine development cycle; starting from exploration, through development and finally to operations. His most recent role, prior to retirement in 2010, was Chief Operating Officer for Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. where he was responsible for mining operations in Canada, the USA and Chile. As a senior leader, he was a key contributor to the overall strategic direction of Quadra.
J. Frank Callaghan will become the non-executive Chairman of the Company. J. Frank Callaghan stated that “the Company welcomes Jack and the valuable mine development, technical and operational expertise that he brings to the team.” The Company will be seeking appropriate management and Board strength to support the transition from explorer to a gold producer.
The Company has reserved an option to purchase an aggregate of 600,000 common shares for a term of 5 years at a price of $0.85 per share, which options will vest in installments.
